We want you to be happy with everything you buy from Northland Machinery. This policy explains how returns, refunds and warranty claims work. It doesn’t limit your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Your rights under New Zealand law

If a product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for the purpose you told us about, you’re entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Depending on the problem, that may be a repair, a replacement or a refund. If you buy for business purposes, we and you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, as allowed under section 43 of that Act. Faulty equipment and warranty

  • New equipment comes with the manufacturer’s warranty. We’ll help you with any warranty claim and deal with the manufacturer for you.
  • If something isn’t right, please contact us as soon as possible with your invoice number, a description of the problem and photos if you can.
  • Please don’t send anything back before talking to us, so we can arrange the best way to sort it out.

Change of mind

  • Parts and accessories: [we’re happy to accept change-of-mind returns within 14 days of purchase if the item is unused, in its original packaging and in a resaleable condition. Return freight is at your cost, and we refund the purchase price once we’ve received and checked the item.]
  • Equipment: [new and used equipment is not returnable for change of mind, and special-order items can’t be returned.] Please talk to us before you buy if you’re unsure which model suits your work.

Refunds

Approved refunds are paid back to the original payment method within [10 working days]. [Deposits on ordered equipment are non-refundable once the order has been placed with the manufacturer, unless the equipment is faulty or can’t be supplied.]
